Lucknow, In a unique milestone for women’s empowerment, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, the legislator of Sarojninagar, inaugurated 5 new ‘Tara Shakti Silai Kendra’ dedicated to empowering widowed women. This marks the first-ever initiative of its kind in history. Additionally, the legislator announced the transformation of all ‘Tara Shakti Centers’ into ‘Samagra Vikas Kendra.’
These Comprehensive Development Centers are distinctive in that they will provide information and facilities related to all government schemes for women. Women will be able to access forms for loans, Benefit for widows’ and elderly pensions, scholarships for daughters, and other welfare schemes at these center’s, where monitoring and operation will also be carried out by women. The aim is to make women self-reliant and provide them with information on various programs. Moreover, the centers will facilitate digital literacy for girls.
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh inaugurated 5 ‘Tara Shakti Sewing Centers in Sarojini nagar, dedicated to the empowerment of widowed women, a landmark initiative in the history of women’s empowerment. Furthermore, these centers were declared as ‘Samagra Vikas Kendra.’ The legislator expressed his commitment to providing training, opportunities, and resources to women through the centers to make them self-reliant. The centers will feature computer facilities, offering computer training to girls for digital literacy. These centers aim at the holistic development of all women in Sarojininagar.
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh’s vision includes dedicating 20 out of the identified 100 sewing centers to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of deprived women, ensuring their social and economic empowerment.
As part of the sequential commitment to establishing 100 ‘Tara Shakti Centers,’ Dr. Rajeshwar Singh inaugurated 5 new centers at the legislative office in Aashiana, Parag Chowraha, bringing the total number of sewing centers in Sarojininagar to 55. These centers are specifically designed to economically empower disadvantaged women. In this event, the legislator distributed 7 sewing machines each to the 5 centers, including 5 motorized sewing machines, 1 pico, and 1 interlocking machine.
Additionally, sewing kits, eco-friendly bags, and sarees were distributed to the women present at the program. Furthermore, 10 meritorious individuals received bicycles, and 5 meritorious students were provided with tablets. With the establishment of these 5 centers, the total number of sewing centers in Sarojininagar has reached 55, providing employment to more than 1,500 women.
Addressing the women present at the program, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh emphasized that when a woman steps out of her home to work, it is the first step towards her self-reliance. This not only enhances their self-confidence and self-esteem but also contributes to the overall development of the family. He highlighted the importance of women’s participation in GDP and expressed the commitment to make women self-reliant and empowered.
During the event, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh listened to the issues and demands of the people and took immediate steps to address them. He fulfilled the demand of Kiran Gupta from Harouni by providing her with a fabricated iron clamp for her business. Suman Lata, an Anganwadi worker from Chandraaval, received instructions to purchase a mobile phone for immediate work in the village.
This initiative reflects Dr. Rajeshwar Singh’s dedication to women’s empowerment and the comprehensive development of the Sarojini Nagar constituency.
