Mission Shakti Phase 5 Begins In Uttar Pradesh To Empower & Protect Women & Girls

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the fifth phase of its flagship initiative Mission Shakti, beginning 22 September 2025, in alignment with the auspicious period of Shardiya Navratri.

This 30-day campaign, led under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, focuses on empowering women and girls by ensuring their safety, dignity, and self-reliance.

The initiative builds upon the significant progress made in the previous four phases of Mission Shakti and aims to further instil confidence among young girls, create fear of the law among potential offenders, and raise awareness across all sections of society.

Mission Shakti Phase 5 operates through a coordinated approach involving law enforcement, educational institutions, and community networks.

Anti-Romeo squads have intensified their patrols to prevent harassment in public spaces. Authorities have set up Pink Booths in high-footfall areas to enhance women’s safety.

Officials are conducting awareness sessions in schools and colleges to educate girls about safety measures, legal rights, and self-defence.

At the grassroots level, women beat officers are organising community meetings in gram panchayats to foster dialogue and understanding. Short films and awareness materials are also being circulated widely to maximise reach.

Inspiring Leadership Experience for Schoolgirls

In a standout event held on 23 September 2025, ACP First Noida, Shri Praveen Kumar, visited the Composite School in Parthala Khanjarpur to engage directly with schoolgirls. He explained the role of the police, mechanisms for women’s protection, and critical aspects of cyber safety.

During the interaction, officials allowed Shivani, a Class 8 student, to take on the role of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for a day at the Noida Police Commissionerate (Sector-6).

This symbolic gesture aims to inspire leadership, responsibility, and confidence among young girls, reinforcing the mission’s broader objective of empowerment through experience.

A Commitment to Safe and Informed Communities

As part of this campaign, the Noida Police Commissionerate has pledged to ensure women’s security, respect, and independence.

One of its key goals is to sensitise the public to modern crimes such as cyber offences, enabling a proactive and informed citizenry.

By combining enforcement with education and inspiration, Mission Shakti Phase 5 reflects the state’s evolving strategy to not only protect but also empower its female population.

As Mission Shakti Phase 5 unfolds, it is set to leave a deeper impact on community engagement and gender awareness in Uttar Pradesh.

By reinforcing both protection and participation, the campaign aims to build a safer and more inclusive society for women and girls across the state.
