
The Bihar police have taken swift action in arresting a man accused of raping a six-year-old girl in Vaishali district.
Lalbabu Ram, a 40-year-old neighbour of the victim, was apprehended within 24 hours of the crime.
According to the police, the incident occurred when the victim was on her way to a nearby shop to buy biscuits with Rs 10.
The accused allegedly lured the child and kidnapped her, taking her to a cornfield where he raped her.
The accused also snatched the child’s mobile phone and threw it away.
Investigation And Medical Examination
Kumari Durga Shakti, State Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Mahua range, confirmed that the police have investigated. The crime scene and collected samples with the help of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team.
The medical examination of the victim has confirmed sexual assault.

The police investigation has revealed that Lalbabu Ram had been involved in similar rape cases twice before, but the cases were settled socially without reaching the police.
This time, however, the matter was formally reported, and the police took swift action.
Further Probe
The accused is currently being questioned, and the police are deepening their probe into any additional complaints against him.
An FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO acts has been registered at Baligaon police station.
Recent Incident In The District
This incident comes on the heels of another rape case in Vaishali district, where a 14-year-old minor girl was gang-raped by two persons.
The district police arrested three accused, including a woman, in connection with the case. The police have booked the accused under the POCSO Act and are investigating the matter.
