West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hailed the Trinamool Congress sweeping victory in the bypolls to four Assembly constituencies as a response to the BJP’s alleged conspiracies against her party. Speaking to media persons after returning from Mumbai, Banerjee said the bypoll results mirrored the party’s impressive performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls, where Trinamool won 29 out of 42 seats in the state.

“The bypoll result is a reply to the conspiracies framed against us by BJP through the use of central agencies. The common people have given a befitting reply to all such conspiracies. But the victory comes with additional responsibilities for us. We will have to stand by people as always,” she told media persons after returning from Mumbai.

Banerjee attributed the victory to the people’s rejection of the BJP’s tactics, stating that her party’s win was a testament to their faith in Trinamool. She also highlighted the significance of the bypoll results nationwide, citing the BJP’s defeat in most constituencies across the country as a clear indication of their decline.

The Trinamool supremo reminded the newly elected legislators of their responsibilities towards the people, emphasizing the need to continue serving the public and dedicating their victory to the martyrs honored on July 21, Martyrs’ Day. With this win, Trinamool has retained Maniktala and gained Bagda, Raiganj, and Ranaghat-Dakshin from the BJP, further solidifying their hold in West Bengal.

“Always remember that we are here because of the people. So you will have to continue with your service for the people instead of concentrating on anything else. In the forthcoming Martyrs’ Day programme on July 21, I will dedicate this victory to the martyrs in whose memories we observe the day every year,” she stated.
