Maharashtra CM Meets Salman Khan, Assures Enhanced Security After Shooting Incident

Maharashtra CM paid a visit to Bollywood luminary Salman Khan at his residence in Bandra’s Galaxy apartments following a recent shooting incident.

Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, paid a visit to Bollywood luminary Salman Khan at his residence in Bandra’s Galaxy apartments following a recent shooting incident outside Khan’s home. During their meeting, Shinde assured Khan of heightened security measures and pledged decisive action by the police in response to the shooting.

“I have assured Salman not to be concerned; the government stands firmly behind him. I have instructed the police commissioner to ensure Salman Khan and his family receive adequate security. The police will take stern measures to deter any future occurrences,” stated Shinde.

Accompanying Shinde were Salim Khan, veteran screenwriter and Salman’s father, along with former MLA Baba Siddiqui, MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui, and Rahul Kanal from Yuva Sena.

Earlier in the day, the Gujarat police apprehended two suspects in connection with the shooting incident and handed them over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. The suspects, identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar, were subsequently remanded in custody until April 25 after appearing in court.

The shooting occurred last Sunday around 5 am when two unidentified individuals discharged firearms outside Salman Khan’s residence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. DCP Mumbai Raj Tilak Roushan confirmed the incident, stating that the police had received reports of three rounds being fired.

The perpetrators, arriving on a motorcycle, fired four rounds outside Galaxy Apartments before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the assailants wearing caps and carrying backpacks, as they discharged their weapons in the direction of the actor’s home.

However, Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, purportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting in a social media post, describing it as a “teaser” and warning of further incidents. Bishnoi, a suspect in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, is currently evading law enforcement after fleeing abroad with a forged passport.

In response to the incident, the Khan family issued a statement expressing their distress and refuting claims that the incident was a publicity stunt. They emphasized the seriousness of the situation and urged against dismissing it lightly.

Salman Khan has previously faced threats from gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Since November 2022, his security level has been raised to Y-Plus, and he has been granted permission to carry a personal firearm. Additionally, Khan has acquired an armoured vehicle to enhance his protection.
