Ambitious Expansion Plans
The Chief Minister outlined ambitious plans for the fair, announcing that the area would expand to over 4,000 hectares, compared to the 3,200 hectares used in 2019. He noted, “Uttar Pradesh has set a standard by successfully organizing the Kumbh in 2019, and expectations are even higher this time.”
Focus on Cleanliness, Safety, and Convenience
Yogi Adityanath stressed that Mahakumbh-2025 should exemplify cleanliness, safety, and convenience. He directed that all preparations must be completed by December 10. “This event is a great opportunity to showcase Sanatan Indian culture,” he stated. To ensure smooth operations, over 7,000 buses will be deployed, and more than 1.5 lakh toilets will be installed. The CM also called for the deployment of 10,000 staff members to strengthen cleanliness efforts.
Infrastructure Improvements
In a bid to improve access, the Chief Minister instructed that a steel bridge be completed by the first week of December. This infrastructure will facilitate easy travel from Kanpur, Lucknow, Barabanki, and Ayodhya to Prayagraj. CM assured that the Ganga and Yamuna would remain clean and uninterrupted.
Enhanced Security Measures
To bolster security, authorities will establish three police lines, three women’s police stations, and ten police posts fair area. The CM emphasized the need for a VVIP corridor from the airport to the event while ensuring that there would be no VIP movement during special bathing festivals. “Respect the faith of every devotee and ensure a cooperative atmosphere,” he instructed the police, highlighting the need for effective crowd management, fire services, and CCTV surveillance. Authorities are up to an anti-drone system.

Encouraging Local Involvement
The CM encouraged the local administration to engage with Akharas and saints throughout the planning process. He also highlighted the potential for homestay arrangements in Prayagraj, suggesting this could provide local residents with additional income.
Strengthening Security Infrastructure
Adityanath emphasized the necessity of new Government Railway Police (GRP) stations for enhanced security. He called for improved coordination between the Railways and UP Police. Additionally, he proposed verification processes for tenants, restaurant workers, and e-rickshaw drivers to ensure safety further.
Key Officials in Attendance
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the meeting. Several cabinet ministers, local public representatives, and top officials from the Kumbh Mela administration also attended the meeting. Their collective expertise will play a critical role in the successful execution of Mahakumbh-2025.
