Maha Kumbh 2025: Posters of Mafia Atiq Ahmed at Prayagraj Sparks Outrage, Says ‘Free Of Atiq’

A shocking and controversial incident has unfolded at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, as the Rashtriya Hindu Dal (RHD) organization has displayed a provocative poster featuring notorious mafia figure Atiq Ahmed. The poster, which appeared on Akhara Marg, has stirred significant attention, triggering both outrage and intrigue.

Maha Kumbh Poster ‘Free Of Atiq’

The poster boldly declares that Prayagraj is now “free of Atiq,” referencing the notorious gangster who once wielded significant influence in the region. However, the content of the poster has raised eyebrows, as it honours the three men accused of killing Atiq Ahmed, calling them “angels.”

These individuals Shani Lavlesh, and Arun, are celebrated as heroes in the eyes of the Rashtriya Hindu Dal. The controversy deepened with the announcement that the organization’s president, Roshan Pandey, has had a certificate made in honour of the killers. This certificate adds an official touch to the divisive act, drawing attention to the Rashtriya Hindu Dal’s political and social stance.

Public Reactions And Political Backlash

The display of the poster has sparked strong reactions from the public and political leaders. While some see it as a symbolic act of reclaiming control over Prayagraj, others view it as an attempt to glorify violence and lawlessness.

Local authorities are now under pressure to investigate the matter, while debates on law, order, and the ethics of such displays continue to rage in the city.

This latest incident adds to the ongoing tensions in the region, as questions surrounding Atiq Ahmed’s criminal past, his death, and the actions of his killers continue to dominate discussions. The poster at Kumbh Mela has certainly succeeded in drawing attention, but it remains to be seen how the situation will evolve in the coming days.
