Magnus Carlsen Reclaims World Chess Championship Title, Praggnanandhaa Gives A Tough Fight

In a riveting showdown at the FIDE World Cup final, Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa faced defeat against the reigning world champion, Magnus Carlsen. Carlsen, the esteemed world number 1 player, has yet again solidified his status as the chess champion of the world. However, Praggnanandhaa’s performance in the final match, spanning three intense days, showcased his resilience and strategic prowess against the formidable Carlsen.

Throughout the nail-biting final, Praggnanandhaa exhibited a commanding presence, maintaining his dominance till the last move. The initial game on Tuesday concluded in a draw after a series of 35 moves, setting the tone for a grueling battle. Carlsen ultimately clinched the world champion title on the third day, capping off a fierce competition. Interestingly, the first two games played between these skilled adversaries also concluded in draws, underlining the closely contested nature of the match.

Despite the tie-breaker rounds held in rapid format with a 25-minute time limit, where players were allotted an extra 10 seconds per move, Carlsen emerged triumphant in both encounters.
