Lord Krishna, The Wielder Of Sudarshan Chakra, Symbolises Destruction Of Evil Forces: Dr Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma, while addressing multiple programmes on Shri Krishna Janmashtami, described Lord Krishna as the divine force that eradicates evil.

“The one who is Shyam is also Murli Manohar, Kanhaiya, and Dwarkadhish. The Lord’s divine plays are unique. In Mathura, Krishna is Kanha, filling hearts with love through the melody of his flute. In Dwarka, he becomes Dwarkadhish, wielding the Sudarshan Chakra and assuming the form of the destroyer,” he stated.

At Khatu Dham, Dr Sharma reflected on Krishna’s life, emphasising that Murli Manohar was born on Janmashtami to defeat tyranny.

“Though Krishna had the power to punish instantly, he was also a forgiving Yogi who pardoned 99 mistakes. As a child in Vrindavan, he subdued the venomous Kaliya serpent and lifted Govardhan Parvat to humble Indra. Later, to uphold truth, he guided the Pandavas and gifted the world the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita,” he said.

Khatu Shyam: The Support of the Defeated

Dr Sharma reminded devotees that remembrance of one’s chosen deity while performing good deeds fulfils all desires.

He noted that Lord Khatu Shyam is revered as an incarnation of Krishna, often called the support of the defeated.

“Legend says Krishna blessed him, declaring that anyone worshipping him in my form will see all their wishes fulfilled,” Sharma said.

The leader also highlighted the Krishna tableaux displayed across Lucknow, including those at Khun Khun Ji’s Chowk, Narhi, and Yahiyaganj Tat Patti.

He observed that although such traditions have declined in some places, the tableaux at Khatu Shyam Ji temple and Police Lines remain significant attractions.

Dr Sharma praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying his government’s return revived the tradition of celebrating Janmashtami in police stations. This is a commendable step.

The celebrations witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including former Jal Shakti Minister Dr Mahendra Singh, Shyam Parivar President Shri Sanjeev Agarwal, Shri Mintu Agarwal, Shri Sudhir Garg, Shri Khannu Ji, Shri Riddhi Kishore Gaur, Shri Balamukund Gaur, Shri Kapil Sharma, and many others.
