Sulphur and oxygen were proven to be present on the moon on Tuesday by Chandrayaan 3, in addition to numerous other elements like aluminium, calcium, etc. Scientist TV Venkateswaran explained the significance of the discovery by comparing it to tasting cooked veggies to determine whether they are fully cooked. “From a distance, we can observe and determine whether the vegetables are cooked. We won’t, however, accept that. We’ll taste a slice to see whether it’s cooked through.

Similar to this, you must land on the moon at least a few times to search for this data and compare it to remote sensing results.. If they match then our confidence in the remote sensing data will be very high,” Venkateswaran said.
When explaining the importance of the Chandrayaan 3 discovery in relation to the remote sensing information that earlier missions had acquired, Venkateswaran noted, “This provides the ground routine. Already, lunar surface mineral mapping and remote sensing have been accomplished by orbiters like Chandrayaan 1, Chandryaan 2, and American orbiters. However, remote sensing occurs at a distance of about 100 kilometres.
