Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati called on the Yogi Adityanath administration to move away from “bulldozer politics” and instead focus on controlling wild animals attacking humans. She urged the government to create a plan to handle the animals that enter human habitats and pose a threat.
Mayawati highlighted that in certain parts of Uttar Pradesh, wild animals are attacking children, the elderly, and laborers. She emphasized that the government must act swiftly to protect the people.
Criticism of Bulldozer Politics
Mayawati also took a jab at the ongoing “bulldozer politics” in Uttar Pradesh, urging the administration to leave legal matters to the courts. She pointed out a recent Supreme Court remark questioning the legality of demolishing homes based on mere accusations. The bench, led by Justices B R Gavai and K V Viswanathan, stated that even convicted individuals cannot have their homes demolished without due process.
The issue has fueled a clash between Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Adityanath defended his administration’s actions, while Yadav challenged him to run with a bulldozer symbol in the elections.
Mayawati Leader Condemns Attack in Private Ambulance
Mayawati also condemned the rape of a woman by a private ambulance driver in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti region. The woman’s husband, a patient in the ambulance, passed away while the driver attempted to molest her. Mayawati called the act “despicable” and urged the government to take immediate and strict action against the accused driver.
