Preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj gained momentum as the Kumbh Mela administration began allotting land to Akharas. The process started after a cordial meeting between the saints and the Mela Authority. The presence of Akharas has heightened the spiritual fervor in the Kumbh area.
10 Akharas Receive Land on First Day
Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision for a grand Mahakumbh, the Kumbh Mela administration allotted land to 10 Akharas on the first day. Saints from Sanyasi and Udasi Akharas participated actively in the process.
Mahant Ravindra Puri, President of the Akhara Parishad, confirmed the successful allotment. He said that the Akharas would soon perform Bhoomi Pujan before beginning their traditional activities.
Demarcation and Peg Planting Tradition Completed
Officials and saints visited the Kumbh area to finalize the land allotment. The Akharas marked their land and completed the ritual of planting pegs, an important tradition of the Mahakumbh.
The Akhara Parishad emphasized unity among all 13 Akharas and praised the administration’s cooperative approach. Saints expressed satisfaction with the facilities and land allocation.
Land for the remaining three Vaishnav Akharas will be allotted on November 19. The Mela administration assured all Akharas of adequate land and facilities to ensure a successful Mahakumbh.
