Former principal of R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, appeared at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in Salt Lake, Kolkata, on Monday. This marks the fourth consecutive day of his interrogation in the horrific Kolkata doctor rape-murder case at the hospital earlier this month.
Ghosh has faced rigorous questioning for 13 to 14 hours each day since last Friday. Each time he exited the CBI office early in the morning, he declined to answer media questions. Meanwhile, CBI officials have not disclosed why Ghosh is being summoned repeatedly.
Additionally, Ghosh’s mobile phone has been sent for forensic examination. Investigators are checking if any data, such as call lists or messages, has been deleted from the device.

Sources reveal that the CBI is trying to determine whether the seminar hall, where the victim’s body was found on August 9, was indeed the crime scene. They are investigating if the crime occurred elsewhere and the body was placed in the seminar hall afterward.
To clarify this, CBI officials are conducting 3D mapping of the seminar hall and other parts of the hospital, including the chest medicine department where the victim was assigned.
Furthermore, the CBI is questioning various individuals associated with the hospital to gather more information. They are also investigating whether the attempted renovation of a room near the seminar hall by PWD staff on August 13, shortly after the Calcutta High Court ordered a CBI probe, was done under Ghosh’s instructions.
