Kerala Doctor Takes Own Life After Wedding Cancellation Due to BMW, Gold Demands

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, a 26-year-old doctor committed herself. It is purported that her boyfriend turned her down for marriage since her family was unable to provide the required dowry. The death of Dr. Shahana, who was enrolled in a postgraduate program at the Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram’s surgery department, has prompted state health minister Veena George to initiate an investigation.

In accordance with dowry prohibition rules and the allegation of aiding suicide, the boyfriend is the subject of a case that the police have filed. According to news , he has been taken into custody.

Dr. Shahana’s mother and her two siblings made up her family, according to accounts in the local press. Her father passed away two years ago while working in the Gulf. She chose to get married to Dr. EA Ruwais after they began dating.

Locals have claimed that the young doctor committed suicide after becoming extremely distressed over this.
