Kejriwal Thanks Kharge And Rahul Gandhi For Supporting The Delhi Services Bill In a Letter

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, wrote to Gandhi and Kharge and stated that the Congress’ opposition to the Delhi Services Bill will be “remembered for decades.”

Letters of appreciation

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister, has addressed letters of appreciation to Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and former president Manmohan Singh on behalf of the Congress for their assistance in opposing and voting against the Delhi Services Bill.

Despite the Congress and its allies’ resistance, the Rajya Sabha on Monday approved the bill. The bill, which was approved by the Lok Sabha on August 3, gives the Lieutenant Governor, who is chosen by the national government, influence over officials in Delhi. The bill will effectively replace an ordinance that was issued in May to effectively overturn a May 11 Supreme Court decision that gave control of bureaucracy to the Delhi government with the exception of police, public order, and land if the President signs it and it is announced.

Kejriwal warned that the Congress’s resistance to the law will be “remembered for decades” in his letters to Gandhi and Kharge. Kejriwal stated that he anticipates continuing assistance in the struggle against those working to undermine the Constitution. “I would want to express my sincere gratitude for standing up for the rights of the people of Delhi both inside and outside the Parliament. Your unwavering adherence to the tenets of our Constitution will be cherished for a very long time, I am confident.

According to Kejriwal’s letter to Singh, who was in the Rajya Sabha when the bill was enacted while in a wheelchair, Singh’s presence despite the limitations imposed by old age and failing health told a message of serenity, elegance, and conviction to uphold India’s democracy and federal system in the face of all adversity.

According to Kejriwal, “Your mere presence sent a loud and clear message to all those forces working to weaken the Indian democracy that any such any attempts will be met with fierce resistance from political leaders cutting across age and political lines.” Singh’s dedication to the Constitution, he continued, would live on for decades and serve as an example for future generations.
