Karnataka Doctor Fired for Pre-Wedding Shoot in Operation Theatre Sparks Outrage, Watch Here

A doctor working on a contract basis at a government hospital in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district faced termination after participating in a pre-wedding photoshoot staged within the operation theatre’s confines. The incident, recorded on video and disseminated across social media platforms, elicited widespread condemnation and prompted swift action from the Karnataka government.

Karnataka Doctor Fired

The footage captured Dr. Abhishek, identified by authorities, purportedly “performing” surgery on a patient while his fiancée assisted him in a simulated procedure. The couple was observed utilizing medical instruments against the backdrop of professional lighting equipment. The presence of laughter from camerapersons and technicians heightened the controversy surrounding the video.

The photoshoot centered around a medical theme, culminating in the “patient” sitting up and laughing following the mock surgery.

In response to the public outcry, Karnataka’s Health Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao, promptly ordered Dr. Abhishek’s immediate dismissal. The minister underscored that “government hospitals are intended for serving the public, not for personal engagements,” expressing zero tolerance for such acts of “indiscipline.”

“A doctor who conducted a pre-wedding shoot in the operation theater of Bharamasagar Government Hospital in Chitradurga has been dismissed from service. Government hospitals exist for the healthcare of people and not for personal endeavors. I cannot condone such acts of indiscipline from doctors,” the minister declared in a tweet.

He has already instructed concerned medical professionals and staff to exercise vigilance to prevent such misconduct from occurring in government hospitals.
