Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has raised concerns over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 100-day agenda for the new government, labeling it as a mere political strategy aimed at influencing public opinion.
Addressing reporters at Vidhana Soudha following a review meeting called by the Prime Minister to discuss the agenda’s progress, Shivakumar emphasized that the agenda appeared designed to sway the mindset of the populace rather than focusing on substantive governance issues.
“It is only a political strategy to influence the mindset of people,” Shivakumar asserted, casting doubt on the sincerity and efficacy of the proposed initiatives.
Regarding the upcoming 4 June counting day and its significance for the Congress party and other political entities, the Deputy Chief Minister indicated that all parties had formulated their respective strategies.
He dismissed the accuracy of exit polls, expressing confidence in the potential of the India bloc to secure a majority and form the government at the Centre.
Turning attention to the plight of rain-affected areas in the state, Shivakumar pledged to visit and inspect the affected regions promptly. He outlined plans to convene a meeting of officials following the Legislative Council polls to address the challenges faced by the affected populace.
“We will hold a meeting of officials after the Legislative Council polls and resolve peoples’ issues,” Shivakumar affirmed, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of affected communities.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s remarks underscore the political tension surrounding the implementation and perception of the Prime Minister’s 100-day agenda, as well as the government’s response to pressing issues such as natural disasters.
