Kanpur: State Government released Rs 200 crores for new Kanpur city plan

The State Government released Rs 200 crore to Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) to develop the much awaited New Kanpur City and Bingawan Scheme in Kanpur.

The State Government released Rs 200 crore to Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) to develop the much awaited New Kanpur City and Bingawan Scheme in Kanpur from last 28 years.

In the first week of January  purchasing  of land from farmers  will start.  As soon as the plan is developed in about a year, people’s dream of having a home will be fulfilled schools, colleges, private hospitals, malls and  commercial plots will also be developed.

It may be recalled that proposal of Rs 726 crore was sent to the government by KDA about year back with a plan to develop New Kanpur City Scheme and Bingawan Residential Scheme near Pandu River in four villages including Singhpur, Hindupur, Gangpur Chakbada located between Mainavati Marg and Kalyanpur-Singhpur Road, but that proposal was rejected by the government .

The said proposal was approved  by the  government on December 7 for the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Urban Expansion/New Cities Incentive Scheme for overall and proper development of cities and released Rs. 200 crores to the Development Authority for both these KDA schemes.

In this regard Kanpur Development Authority Board has already approved Rs 150 crore for the New Kanpur City Plan. Out of the sanctioned amount land will be purchased from tenants for the New Kanpur City Scheme with Rs 150 crores.Out of this scheme of 153 hectares, 54 hectares of land belongs to KDA.

Bingawan scheme will be developed with the remaining Rs 50 crore received from the government.According to Secretary Shatrohan Vaishya said that 150 farmers have given consent for the New Kanpur City Plan. More than this, KDA has been assured to give consent while purchasing the land.
