Kamal Nath in BJP?
Amid mounting speculation of Kamal Nath’s potential departure from the Congress to join the BJP, sources close to the former Madhya Pradesh chief minister have revealed to that while he hasn’t officially severed ties with the party yet, he harbors dissatisfaction with its current state, feeling it no longer aligns with the organization he joined over four decades ago.
Having arrived in Delhi on Saturday, Kamal Nath has reportedly refrained from engaging with Union Home Minister Amit Shah or Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Instead, he’s heard statements from BJP Madhya Pradesh President VD Sharma extending an invitation to join their ranks.
Sources indicate that the impetus for this contemplation stems from the desire for accelerated development in Chhindwara, the constituency Kamal Nath represented for an impressive nine terms as an MP. Reflecting the sentiments of constituents, he’s pondering over the prospect of crossing over to the BJP. Speculation swirls further as his son, Nakul Nath, currently occupies the MP seat for Chhindwara, with indications suggesting he might follow his father’s footsteps into the BJP camp.

Dismissing any such speculation, Jitu Patwari, who succeeded Kamal Nath as the Madhya Pradesh Congress President following the party’s significant defeat in the state elections last year, stated in Hindi, “When Jyotiraditya Scindia left the party (in 2020) and our government fell, every Congress worker embraced Kamal Nath’s ideology and leadership and worked alongside him. The circulating reports are unfounded.”
