Suriname Ambassador Hanisha Jairam visited Haridwar on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami and offered prayers at prominent temples in the holy city.
During her visit, Hanisha Jairam paid obeisance at the famous Maa Mansa Devi Temple before visiting the Siddhpeeth Shri Dakshin Kali Temple. She also met Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj and sought his blessings.
The ambassador described her experience in Haridwar as deeply peaceful and spiritual. She said the feeling she experienced inside the temples was difficult to fully express in words and considered herself fortunate to have had the opportunity.
Swami Kailashanand Giri welcomed Hanisha Jairam’s visit and highlighted her respect for Indian culture and Sanatan traditions. He said she expressed faith in the Ganga and the saint community.
According to Swami Kailashanand Giri, Jairam is keen to strengthen the cultural and spiritual ties between India and Suriname. She further expressed a desire to return to Haridwar and visit Kedarnath, although she was advised to postpone the trip due to weather conditions.
On Janmashtami, Swami Kailashanand Giri described Lord Krishna as the Jagatguru and extended his greetings to devotees across India and the world. He also invited devotees to Kangra Ashram to celebrate Krishna’s birth and receive prasad.
