On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended their greetings to people on the occasion of Janmashtami, with their messages focusing on Lord Krishna’s teachings and blessings.
PM Modi wished people on the festival and said Lord Krishna’s divine messages offer lasting inspiration for selfless action. He expressed hope that the sacred occasion would bring positive energy and strength to everyone’s lives.
“Heartfelt Janmashtami greetings to all of you,” PM Modi said in a post on X, ending his message with ‘Jai Shri Krishna’.

Amit Shah also greeted citizens on Shri Krishna Janmashtami and prayed for Lord Krishna’s blessings on everyone.
Shah described Krishna as a symbol of righteousness, ethics and public welfare, concluding his message with ‘Jai Shri Krishna’.

CM Yogi Adityanath began his message by saying, “I bow to Krishna, the Guru of the Universe.”
The Minister then conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh on the festival.
The Chief Minister prayed that Krishna’s grace would inspire love, compassion, righteousness and selfless action. He further wished for happiness, peace, prosperity and the welfare of all.

Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, marks the birth of Lord Krishna and is being celebrated across India on Friday.
Devotees observe the festival with fasting, prayers, bhajans, temple visits and midnight celebrations.
Mathura and Vrindavan are among the main centres of festivities, while temples and homes across the country have been decorated for the occasion.
Dahi Handi celebrations will take place on September 5.
