The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Markazi Majlis e Shura (Central Advisory Council) yesterday endorsed the organization’s four-year strategy. At the start of its four-year term, the Jamaat establishes its goals and plans, and then moves forward in accordance with them. Changing the public’s perception of the country for the better has been given top priority in the new four-year strategy. It is important to clear any misconceptions about Islam and Islamic beliefs.

Islam’s teachings are notable for being for the wellbeing of all people, their worldly welfare, their salvation in the Hereafter, and ensuring justice and fairness for all, rather than for the benefit of any particular section community. This is what Jamaat wishes to make clear to the citizens of our nation.

The four year plan of  Jamaat-e-Islami aimed at promoting communal harmony

Improving links amongst the nation’s diverse religious communities has been given top priority in Jamaat’s four-year strategy. Hatred must disappear, and a climate of conversation and debate must be established. At the national level as well as at the level of states and units, numerous activities and campaigns will be run in support of this. At different levels, discussion and dialogue forums will be encouraged.

Platforms between academics, religious authorities, common people, members of civil society, young people, and women will be established in order to facilitate the interaction of various religious groups. To achieve justice and welfare for all, a cooperative environment shall be established.

A regular campaign against national vices such casteism, prejudice, the denial of women’s and girls’ rights, feticide, dowry, drugs, and corruption will be launched on a regular basis, according to Jamaat.

The Islamic perspective on the environmental situation will be highlighted, and various types of unique actions will be implemented in various cities to address environmental problems.

Reforms introduced for the Muslim community

In the Jamaat programme, reforms inside the Muslim community have also been given considerable attention. The community will be made more aware. There will be an effort to sway them into embracing Islam and becoming its embodiment. The elements of Islam that the reformist movements have not given much attention to will receive special attention. Such Islamic teachings will be emphasised, and efforts will be made to harmonise the attitude of Muslims towards them. For instance, marriage should be simple, the dowry ritual should be abolished, women should be given a share of inheritance, women’s rights should be paid, honesty in trade and financial matters should be implemented, cleanliness be observed, and good behaviour towards Muslim and non-Muslim neighbours must be practised.

Jamaat-e-Islami focused on imparting education

The Jamaat has determined that education will receive significant priority. The educational system ought to be open to all students and free from cultural control. All citizens should have easy access to education, which should be provided on the basis of moral principles. These are the Jamaat’s top three concerns with regard to education. As a result, there will be ongoing efforts to get the government’s attention for these goals. The various Jamaat branches would do their best to work on these issues as well. Jamaat will work to improve the proportion of educated Muslims and members of other underdeveloped groups. Their educational issues should be resolved while the literacy rate and GER should rise. The establishment of new educational institutions in various regions of the country is also an important part of this plan.

Economic empowerment of the Muslim community prioritized

An important component of the new plan is the economic empowerment of the Muslim community and other backward groups and also improvement in various other domains. Another critical portion of the plan is to make efforts for institutionalizing microfinance as a movement and providing interest-free loans to help the poor financially and become self-reliant. It has also been decided that along with the various works of social service that the Jamaat is doing, this time special efforts will be made in the field of public health and the healthcare industry. Special cells will be set up in all major cities to provide timely guidance for medical treatment and to protect people from being financially exploited when they seek that treatment.

The recovery, development, and appropriate use of Waqf (endowment) properties are obligations that the government, trustees, and populace will be made aware of. For this, specialised cells will also be created.

One of the key aims of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s activities will be to collaborate with all classes and individuals who value justice in order to achieve peace and justice throughout the nation. Our community should be free of ills like all forms of cruelty, injustice, sedition, corruption, and hatred through a fight against prejudice, fear, and terror.
