In a major initiative to guarantee the safety and smooth conduct of Maha Kumbh 2025, the police launched an intensive security check campaign on January 7. The campaign, led by Deputy Inspector General of Police Vaibhav Krishna (IPS), focuses on strengthening surveillance at critical locations such as Sangam Ghat, pontoon bridges, and major intersections.
The security operation aims to monitor and address any suspicious activities or individuals in these key areas. DIG Vaibhav Krishna directed all station in-charges to enhance vigilance within their jurisdictions, emphasizing a proactive approach to security. Special measures have been put in place to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure the safety of pilgrims during the event.
As part of the security campaign, teams led by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Circle Officers, and Station In-charges conducted rigorous checks on suspicious individuals, vehicles, and potential encroachments. To bolster safety measures, additional security reinforcements were deployed on pontoon bridges, ensuring that these vital crossing points remain secure during the festival.
