India Advancing Strongly Towards Self-Reliance: Dr Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of UP, Dr Dinesh Sharma, said that India’s sports talents are flying the flag of victory across the world.

He stressed that village Chaupals remain the real centres of talent. Youngsters from villages, he noted, are surprising the world by winning medals in various sports.

While starting registration in Mohanlalganj parliamentary constituency under the MP Sports Festival, he explained that competitions will take place from village to block levels. He added that these events are open to all citizens without discrimination.

Moreover, he said the festival will promote the spirit of sports and leadership skills. He declared that the ultimate aim of the MP Sports Festival is to build a healthy India.

Sports as a Path to Growth and Jobs

Paying tribute to Hockey Magician Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary, Dr Sharma said that the old saying, “If you play and jump, you will become a devil,” has changed into “If you play and jump, you will become great.”

He highlighted that sports now provide wide employment opportunities. Indian players, he continued, are showcasing their prowess worldwide. He gave Sachin Tendulkar’s example, saying the country took pride in his achievements.

Dr Sharma informed that the MP Sports Festival will begin on 21 September and end on 25 December. At the same time, he congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his vision of making India developed by 2047.

Dr Sharma claimed that no country dares to challenge India now because the nation has advanced towards self-reliance under the PM’s leadership.

He also underlined that a strong and knowledgeable youth ensures a strong nation. Therefore, the government is building playgrounds in villages and open gyms in parks.

Youth, Farmers and National Pride

Dr Sharma said that PM Modi has removed people’s worries about basic needs. He pointed out that the Centre is providing housing, toilets, gas, electricity, and 10 kg of free ration.

Dr Sharma added that PM Modi has also strengthened national security. Today, he stressed, India does not release white pigeons after attacks but strikes inside enemy territory.

He remarked that the Prime Minister is firmly resisting global powers trying to take away farmers’ rights. He stated that PM Modi is also fighting against corruption and rumours.

According to him, India is now shaping strong and capable youth. He predicted that new Chandrashekhar Azads would emerge from them.

The MP said the festival will showcase talents, and the winners will receive awards and certificates that will open new opportunities. He also administered an oath to the players.

He recalled that earlier, players often lost in the first round and returned quickly. The reasons, he said, were biased selection and poor training.

Dr Sharma alleged that the Congress government spent on administrators instead of athletes. He credited BJP leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Uma Bharti for establishing the SAI Centre in Lucknow.

He maintained that today’s Modi government is investing in talent development. As a result, he said, India’s players are winning medals and earning recognition.

Finally, Dr Sharma praised the values of sports, where the loser congratulates the winner. He said politics should also adopt this spirit for national progress.

Former Union Minister Kaushal Kishore added that true players put the nation first. He observed that defeat teaches lessons while victory builds enthusiasm. He also urged players to stay away from addiction.
