Indian Army Responds Strongly To Pakistan’s Firing Along LoC For Sixth Day

The Indian Army responded firmly to unprovoked firing by the Pakistan Army across the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir for the sixth consecutive day.

Indian Army Responds Strongly To Pakistan’s Firing Along LoC

The Indian Army delivered a strong and measured response to continued unprovoked firing from Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the night of April 29–30, Pakistani forces targeted the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors, escalating tensions that have persisted for nearly a week.

According to the Ministry of Defence, Indian troops acted swiftly and proportionately to the aggression.

Earlier on April 28–29, Pakistan had opened small-arms fire along stretches of the LoC opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and Akhnoor sectors, prompting calibrated Indian responses.

Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists carried out a major attack on April 22 in Baisaran, Pahalgam, killing 26 civilians, including 25 tourists.

The attack has triggered widespread outrage and a firm response from the Indian government.

PM Modi’s Stern Message

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first reaction to the Pahalgam killings, vowed to chase the terrorists, their handlers, and backers to the ends of the earth.

He has granted complete operational freedom to the armed forces to determine the timing and scale of their response.

This directive followed a high-level meeting chaired by PM Modi, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff, and the three service chiefs in attendance.

Security Measures Intensified

Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha also held a review meeting in Srinagar with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.

The L-G urged the Army to use full force to neutralize those behind the Pahalgam attack.

To send a strong message to terrorists and their overground workers (OGWs), the security forces have continued demolishing the homes of known terrorists.

Security forces razed the houses of LeT operatives Adil Hussain Thokar and Asif Sheikh last week in Tral and Bijbehara, linking both to the Pahalgam massacre.

So far, homes of 10 active terrorists have been demolished in counter-terror efforts.

Political Unity Against Terrorism

The Jammu & Kashmir Assembly unanimously passed a resolution condemning the Pahalgam attack.

Legislators across party lines expressed solidarity with the victims and the armed forces.

As tensions remain high along the LoC, the Indian Army’s continued vigilance and firm responses underline New Delhi’s message that provocations and terror-backed aggression will not go unanswered.
