In response to a spike in terror activities, the Indian Army is strategically adjusting its deployment. This move aims to address the recent terror threats in the Jammu Division, particularly in the Doda area.
According to reports, the Army is deploying 500 Para Special Commandos to search for and neutralize 50 to 55 highly trained infiltrators hiding in the dense forests.
The Indian Army is also mobilizing an additional 3,400 to 4,000 troops near border areas to counter infiltration. Infiltration activities facilitated by Pakistan through its proxies are on the rise, aiming to revitalize terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
To bolster operational effectiveness, intelligence agencies have intensified their efforts in the region, focusing on dismantling the infrastructure supporting terrorists, including networks of above-ground operatives.
The geographical characteristics of the Jammu region, with numerous rivulets and rivers prone to monsoon-season flooding, present vulnerabilities that terrorists could exploit for infiltration from Pakistan.
During a recent security summit in Kathua, senior officials, including J&K DGP RR Swain, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, and BSF’s Special Director General for the Western Command, YB Khurania, convened to strategize on closing these gaps.
The increased military presence in the Jammu Division highlights ongoing efforts to ensure stability in the region and counter the persistent terrorism threat along the sensitive border areas.
This comprehensive approach underscores the Indian military’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding security and stability in Jammu amidst escalating challenges.
