The Indian Armed Forces celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, with great enthusiasm.

They held yoga sessions across challenging locations, from the icy Siachen Glacier to the Indian Ocean and forward bases in Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the flagship Yoga Day event at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, where more than 11,000 naval personnel and their families participated in a mass yoga session.

In Udhampur, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led yoga celebrations at the Northern Command Headquarters, performing asanas with 2,500 Indian Army soldiers.

He highlighted yoga’s link with mental clarity and discipline, praising its relevance during critical operations like Operation Sindoor.

At the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Glacier, Army personnel demonstrated remarkable endurance by performing yoga in sub-zero temperatures, reaffirming yoga’s power to enhance physical and psychological resilience in extreme conditions.

Air Force, Coast Guard, and NCC join Nationwide observance

The Indian Air Force (IAF) organised yoga sessions at Air Force Station, New Delhi, aligning with its motto, ‘People First, Mission Always’.

Meanwhile, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) launched its ‘Yoga Sangam’ campaign across over 60 coastal and island locations, with Director General Paramesh Sivamani leading the central event in Noida.
