
On Friday, an all-party parliamentary delegation from India, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, held a series of significant meetings in Tokyo to emphasise India’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism.
The delegation met Japan’s former Defence Minister Minoru Kihara and Shinako Tsuchiya, Director General of the International Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
During the discussions, the Members of Parliament underlined India’s firm commitment to fighting every form of terrorism.
Following the meeting, the Indian Embassy in Japan posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the interaction was ‘fruitful’, reaffirming India’s strong resolve to tackle terrorism.
Engagements With Japanese Counter-Terrorism Experts
Earlier on the same day, the delegation met with Yasuhiro Hanashi, Acting Chairperson of the LDP’s Research Committee on Counter-terrorism and former Minister of Justice.
The MPs highlighted India’s ‘unified and determined stance’ against terrorism in all its manifestations.
The embassy’s X post noted that both sides reiterated their zero-tolerance approach to terrorism.

The delegation also engaged with the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo, where they reinforced India’s ‘unwavering national resolve’ against terrorism.
The embassy praised the ‘proactive engagement’ of the Indian MPs, describing their united voice and firm action in confronting terrorism.

Participation In Raisina Tokyo 2025 Conference
On Thursday, the all-party delegation attended the inaugural session of Raisina Tokyo 2025, a prominent conference involving leaders and experts from India, Japan, and the Indo-Pacific region.
During the event, speakers reiterated Japan’s ongoing support for India’s fight against terrorism, further strengthening bilateral ties.

Meetings With Senior Japanese Officials
The Indian delegation also held high-level talks with Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and the current Vice President of the LDP, who is also Chairman of the Japan-India Association.
Additionally, the delegation met Takashi Endo, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security.
Both leaders confirmed Japan’s continued support for India’s anti-terrorism efforts.

In addition, the Indian MPs engaged with leading Japanese think tanks, providing detailed briefings on India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
Participants expressed strong backing for India’s counterterrorism stance, reflecting a shared commitment to regional security.
