India clinched the bronze medal in a thrilling hockey match against Spain at the Paris Olympics 2024, with standout performance by Rajkumar Pal. Hailing from Karampur in Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, Pal played a pivotal role in securing the medal for his team.
Following the victory, an elated Rajkumar Pal immediately shared the news with his elder brother, Jokhan Pal, exclaiming, “Bhaiya, we have won the medal.” During a phone conversation, he also sought blessings from the elders in his village.

Rajkumar’s mother, Manraji Devi, was deeply engaged in religious rituals on August 8, praying for her son’s success. As news of the victory broke, she performed puja, celebrating the monumental achievement.
Meanwhile, Rajkumar’s family celebrated the win with fervor. His mother watched the match live on television with his daughter-in-law, Neelam. Jokhan Pal, on the other hand, joined local celebrations at Meghbaran Stadium, where former MP and stadium manager Radhe Mohan Singh had arranged a live broadcast of the match on a large LED screen. The stadium’s coach and players were present to witness the historic event.
Radhe Mohan Singh expressed his pride, noting that he had spoken with Rajkumar Pal and teammate Lalit Upadhyay, praising their remarkable contribution to India’s Olympic success. Jokhan Pal confirmed that Rajkumar will return home on August 11, and the entire village is abuzz with celebrations, marking the victory with great enthusiasm.
