India Executes Precision Strike In Response To Pahalgam Attack, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday praised the Indian armed forces for successfully conducting ‘Operation Sindoor’, calling it a direct response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians on 22 April.

He reiterated India’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism at its roots.

Following the attack in Pahalgam, Indian forces carried out ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting nine key terror-linked sites located deep within Pakistani territory.

Taking to X, Shah posted, “Proud of our armed forces. #OperationSindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam.”

“The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” the post added.

The targets reportedly connected to groups involved in the Pahalgam incident, where 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained closely engaged with senior military leaders and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval throughout the operation.

Operation Details

According to official briefings, the nine targets comprised terror camps and logistical hubs based in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Indian Army’s spokesperson emphasised that they focused on and precisely targeted only the terrorist camps that planned and executed attacks against India.

The Army also emphasised that it designed the mission to avoid escalation, deliberately sparing civilian, military, and economic structures in Pakistan.

Investigations had earlier identified Pakistan-based groups as being behind the Pahalgam attack, with The Resistance Front — a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba — claiming responsibility.

India had pledged a strong counteraction, combining diplomatic engagement with military readiness.

‘Operation Sindoor’ is now one of India’s most significant cross-border actions since the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.
