Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla
At G20 Speaker’s summit (P20) , Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla has told the delegation from Turkey that India is dead against the terrorism activities in all forms be it caste or religion-based. This summit was attended by 48 speakers and senate chairpersons from 29 countries.

Addressing Turkish Speaker Kurtulmus’s apprehensions during the bilateral meeting that some Turkish elements in India could try to engineer instability in their mother country, Birla said India condemns terrorism in all forms. “Terrorism is a big stumbling block for peace and development,” said the Lok Sabha Speaker. Birla even called for global peace and prosperity. Collective determination is needed to combat terrorism he said.
The Lok Sabha speaker insisted that every nation and their parliament is sovereign and their internal issues should not be discussed by others, unless the issues had an international dimension.

Apart from terrorism, other issues discussed in the summit includes Women led development and Climate change. The Lok Sabha speaker called for Naari Shakti and said the passage of Women’s reservation bill or Naari Vaardan bill proves that India is moving in that direction only. On the issue of climate change Om Birla said that India has taken several initiatives to deal with the threat of climate change.
