Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the world is actively seeking reliable and resilient manufacturing partners and that India has a strong opportunity to play this role amid changing global dynamics.
At a post-Budget webinar on ‘Sustaining and Strengthening Economic Growth’, the Prime Minister urged stakeholders to invest confidently, adopt advanced technology, boost research and uphold global quality standards.
He said reshaping global supply chains positions India’s strong economy as a beacon of hope and a foundation for Viksit Bharat.
Referring to Free Trade Agreements, he stressed that industry must focus on quality and global consumer needs, reiterating the mantra:
Build more, produce more, connect more, and export more.
Highlighting MSMEs, he said reforms have eased expansion concerns and urged them to raise productivity, improve quality and adopt digital processes to compete globally.
He described infrastructure and logistics as central to growth, backed by record capital expenditure, and stressed that industry must align its strategies to benefit fully.
On urbanisation, he called for better city planning and developing Tier-II and Tier-III cities as new growth centres. He also noted that global markets now weigh environmental impact alongside cost.
He referred to the Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage Mission as a significant initiative and urged businesses to integrate clean technologies into their core strategies.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the ‘Biopharma Shakti Mission’, aimed at positioning India as a global hub for biologics and next-generation therapies.
The focus on advanced research and manufacturing, he said, will strengthen India’s global standing.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister emphasised that manufacturing, logistics, MSMEs and urban centres form interconnected pillars of a unified economic structure, and said this year’s Budget has reinforced each pillar to drive sustained growth.
