Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will visit India on September 9-10, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marks his first official visit to India as Crown Prince. He will be accompanied by UAE ministers and a business delegation, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Saturday.
The Crown Prince will meet Prime Minister Modi on September 9 to discuss a range of bilateral issues. He is also set to meet President Droupadi Murmu and pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The following day, he will visit Mumbai to participate in a business forum with leaders from both countries.
India and the UAE have shared close ties for years, and the relationship has strengthened through a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Cooperation has expanded across key sectors, including trade, energy, technology, and education. The Crown Prince’s visit is expected to further deepen this partnership and explore new areas of collaboration.
In recent years, top-level exchanges between the two countries have become frequent. UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India earlier this year, attending the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. In July 2023, Prime Minister Modi visited the UAE for the fifth time since 2015, enhancing the strategic partnership.
Trade between India and the UAE reached $85 billion in 2022, making the UAE India’s third-largest trading partner and second-largest export destination. This partnership continues to grow in scope and significance.
