The historic Aishbagh Ramleela, counted among the oldest and most revered performances in Uttar Pradesh, once again drew immense crowds this Vijayadashami season.
Initiated centuries ago by the disciples of Goswami Tulsidas, the annual staging of the epic continues to embody the region’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
This year’s performance, organised by the Shri Ramleela Samiti, Aishbagh, witnessed an overwhelming turnout of devotees and community members.
The evening was graced by the presence of revered spiritual leader Mahamandaleshwar Swami Yatindranand Maharaj, who blessed the gathering and emphasised the enduring significance of Lord Ram’s ideals in guiding society.
The occasion also saw the participation of prominent leaders, including Member of the Legislative Council and former minister Dr Mahendra Singh, MLC and state BJP general secretary Anup Gupta, and several distinguished public representatives.
The staging of Ramleela began with traditional rituals, garlanding of deities, and devotional recitations, followed by dramatic performances depicting pivotal episodes from the Ramayana.
The audience witnessed scenes from the life of Lord Ram, reinforcing the timeless message of truth, duty, and the victory of good over evil.
Addressing the vast gathering, dignitaries highlighted how the Ramleela not only preserves religious tradition but also inspires social values of unity, sacrifice, and dharma.
The cultural grandeur of the event reaffirmed its position as a spiritual cornerstone in Lucknow’s festive calendar.
The Shri Ramleela Samiti, led by its president Harishchandra Agrawal, ensured that the celebration upheld its long-standing traditions while involving active participation from the local community.
Senior BJP leader Rajneesh Gupta Bobby, councillors Sandeep Sharma, Narendra Sharma, Rajiv Bajpai, along with former councillors Sudhir Mishra and Saket Sharma, also attended the event.
Their presence, alongside cultural enthusiasts such as Ritik Kishore Gaur and Ashutosh Sharma, highlighted the event’s broad appeal, cutting across generations.
The Aishbagh Ramleela, renowned for its historical lineage, continues to be a bridge between the past and present.
Each year, its enactment draws thousands who gather not just to witness the drama but to immerse themselves in the spiritual and cultural essence of Sanatan tradition.
The leaders present praised the efforts of the Samiti for keeping alive a centuries-old cultural institution that binds communities through shared devotion and heritage.
As Uttar Pradesh strengthens its position as a hub for cultural tourism, historic festivals like the Aishbagh Ramleela will play a vital role in promoting tradition and regional pride.
The annual performance serves as a reminder of India’s enduring cultural fabric, with Aishbagh continuing to stand as a beacon of devotion, unity, and celebration.
