The hearing of the civil suit pending in Allahabad High Court regarding the demand of removing the possession of Shahi Idgah Mosque from the land registered in the name of Katra Keshav Dev in Mathura and handing it over to Lord Shri Krishna, will now be heard on March 13.
The date was fixed by Mr. Justice Mayank Kumar Jain after hearing the mosque side arguments which continued for almost 1.25 hours on Thursday. Supreme Court advocate Tasneem Ahmadi presented her side in arguments numbers 6, 9, 16 and 18.
He said the plaintiff is demanding ownership rights of the land, which was the subject of an agreement signed in 1968 between Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sangh and the management of Shahi Masjid Idgah, which sought to divide the disputed land. This case is not maintainable in terms of the Places of Worship Act and the Limitation Act.
Earlier the court allowed the counsel of the temple Vishnu Shankar Jain to respond to the application objecting to the High Court’s decision in which senior advocate Manish Goyal was appointed as amicus curiae to assist the court. Objection has been raised on this from the mosque side. Supreme Court advocate Tasneem Ahmadi presented her side in arguments numbers 6, 9, 16 and 18. He said the plaintiff is demanding ownership rights of the land, which was the subject of an agreement signed.
