Bharat Express organised the Urdu Conclave Bazm-e-Sahafat on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, with the central theme ‘New India with Urdu’.
The event was held in association with the Delhi Urdu Academy under the Department of Art, Culture and Language of the Delhi Government.
During the opening ceremony, Bharat Express News Network’s CMD and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai expressed his gratitude to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
He also thanked Minister Kapil Mishra and the Delhi Government for supporting an event dedicated to the growth and relevance of the Urdu language.
The Urdu Conclave saw the participation of several key political leaders, policymakers, and public figures.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister Prof SP Singh Baghel, Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh, and Lok Sabha MP Jagdambika Pal attended the programme as special guests.
Their presence underscored the national significance of Urdu and its contribution to India’s cultural and linguistic landscape.
Speaking at the event, CMD Upendrra Rai shared reflections on his long association with Delhi, recalling his first visit to the city on 5 January 1997.
He observed that Delhi had transformed remarkably over the decades. Referring to the period of Congress governance under Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, he noted that she delivered commendable work within her capacity.
However, he emphasised that the vision of a ‘Developed India’, championed by Bharat Express, is now visible in the proactive governance of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Rai highlighted that CM Gupta actively visits neighbourhoods, supervises work on the ground, and motivates officials to execute their responsibilities with dedication.
He praised the Delhi Government’s overall mission, describing it as fast-paced and efficient.
CMD Upendrra Rai also commended Minister Kapil Mishra’s forward-thinking approach, noting that he consistently encourages innovative initiatives.
He recalled Mishra’s leadership during the Punjab floods, where he efficiently coordinated relief efforts.
According to Rai, every minister in the Delhi Government works with commitment, drawing motivation directly from the Chief Minister.
He then proceeded to begin an interactive question-and-answer session with CM Gupta, addressing issues relevant to viewers.
The Urdu Conclave is being broadcast live from 10 AM to 10 PM. Viewers across India and abroad can watch Bharat Express via multiple platforms.
