Hemant Soren Takes Oath As Jharkhand CM For Fourth Time, In Presence Of Top INDIA Bloc Leaders

Hemant Soren was sworn in as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister for the fourth time on Thursday. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy at 4:10 pm during a grand ceremony at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi.

The JMM-Congress-RJD-CPI-ML alliance, led by Soren, secured a two-thirds majority in the recent elections, winning 56 of 81 seats. This marks a historic fourth term for Soren as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister.

Alliance Leaders Grace the Oath Taking Ceremony

The swearing-in was attended by prominent INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav.

AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, and others were also present. Soren’s family, including JMM President Shibu Soren, joined the celebrations on stage. The event showcased vibrant folk performances highlighting Jharkhand’s culture.

First Cabinet Decision Honors Martyred Agniveer

After the ceremony, Soren held his first cabinet meeting at Project Bhawan. He announced a government job and Rs 10 lakh for the family of Agniveer Arjun Kumar Mahato, martyred during an encounter in Assam on November 22.

Mahato, a 2023 recruit, hailed from Bokaro’s Fatehpur village. The financial assistance and job aim to support his grieving family, including his father, Lankeshwar Mahato.

Hemant Soren’s fourth term begins with a strong political mandate and promises of welfare for the people of Jharkhand.
