In a poignant display of communal unity and spiritual fervor, the small district of Pakur bid farewell to a group of Haj pilgrims embarking on their sacred journey to Mecca and Medina. Amongst the hustle and bustle of the Pakur Railway Station, emotions ran high as family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to see off the pilgrims, their hearts heavy with both anticipation and prayers for a safe voyage and spiritual fulfillment.
Led by Samad Ali, a group of Hajis from Pakur district commenced their journey from Karyodih Littipara, Hiranpur, Pakur to Kolkata aboard the Balughat train. As they embarked on this auspicious expedition on a Wednesday, the air was thick with blessings and good wishes from the community.
The scene at Pakur Railway Station was one of heartfelt farewells and collective prayers. Relatives and friends of the departing pilgrims joined hands with the city’s residents in bidding them Godspeed. Amidst tearful embraces and solemn chants, the pilgrims were enveloped in a wave of support and love from their community.
As the Hajis prepared to depart for Kolkata, where they would catch their flight to Jeddah on May 8th, the atmosphere was charged with emotions. Every step they took towards their journey’s next leg was accompanied by fervent prayers for their safety and for the peace and prosperity of their homeland.

This year holds special significance as all Haj pilgrims from Jharkhand and Bihar will take flight from Kolkata. The departure of the Pakur contingent was marked not just by personal well-wishes but also by a collective plea for harmony and tranquility in the nation. In the midst of their own spiritual quest, these pilgrims carry with them the hopes and aspirations of their community and country.
The send-off was a testament to the spirit of unity that transcends boundaries of faith and geography. Azizul Islam, Narayan Bhagat, Mohd., along with many others, stood in solidarity with Samad Ali and his fellow travelers, symbolizing the shared values of compassion and solidarity that define the essence of the pilgrimage.
Among those present were individuals from diverse backgrounds – Manobar Alam, Vikas Saha, Kamlesh Saha, Shahid Iqbal, Daulat Momin, Ishaq Ansari, to name a few – united in their support for the pilgrims and their fervent prayers for the well-being of their nation.
As the train departed from Pakur Railway Station, carrying the dreams and aspirations of its pilgrims, the echoes of prayers for peace and prosperity resonated through the air. In their journey towards spiritual enlightenment, these pilgrims carry with them the hopes of a nation, united in faith and bound by the common desire for a better tomorrow.
