Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dahod, Gujarat, on Monday to an enthusiastic reception.
Locals waved the Tricolour and raised slogans as the PM stepped into the tribal district for a public address.
Women in coordinated sarees and supporters gathered in large numbers to express their appreciation, many referencing his leadership in the recent ‘Operation Sindoor’.
PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for developmental projects worth over ₹24,000 crore.
These include significant rail infrastructure enhancements and multiple Gujarat government initiatives.
A highlight was the inauguration of a Locomotive Manufacturing Plant of Indian Railways in Dahod.
The facility will produce high-powered 9000 HP electric locomotives for domestic use and export, greatly enhancing freight handling capacity.
He also flagged off the first locomotive from the plant, marking a milestone in the Make in India mission.
Supporters at the rally celebrated India’s strong response to cross-border terrorism.
Rina Panchal, a local attendee, said, “Being a woman, I understand the value of sindoor. Terrorists destroyed it, and PM Modi gave them a fitting reply through Operation Sindoor.”
Another woman added, “PM Modi has an old connection with Dahod. Around 2,000 women wore identical sarees today to honour him.”
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel honoured the Prime Minister with an idol of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Local artisans also presented handcrafted items as a gesture of appreciation. The visit underscored the government’s continued focus on tribal welfare and cultural identity.
Following his engagements in Dahod, PM Modi will travel to Bhuj, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects exceeding ₹53,400 crore.
The initiatives span connectivity, industrial growth, and border area development.
Ahead of his arrival, the town was adorned with posters celebrating the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’, which dismantled multiple terror camps across the border.
A local from Bhuj shared, “Our village is near the border. We thank the army for Operation Sindoor. For two days, the atmosphere here feels like Diwali. We pray to Maa Ashapura and Maa Momai to protect our jawans.”
‘Operation Sindoor’ was a precision military campaign targeting terror infrastructure across the Line of Control and into Pakistani territory.
Intelligence agencies identified nine major camps, all of which were neutralised.
PM Modi’s Gujarat visit, which blends development with national pride, reflects his government’s dual focus on progress and security.
