Gujarat Celebrates PM Modi’s 75th Birthday With Giant Poster & Tricolour In Surat

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, the city of Surat hosted a visually striking celebration at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium.

A giant fabric poster, crafted by local artist Praveen Gupta, and a towering 30×20 ft Tricolour flag served as the focal points of the tribute.

The event drew hundreds of spectators and supporters, creating a festive atmosphere that underscored the city’s admiration for its most famous son.

The massive poster, weighing 250 kilograms, took over 10 days to complete and required the coordinated efforts of 54 individuals to unfold.

Speaking about the effort, Praveen Gupta shared, “We wanted to make this birthday memorable for our beloved Prime Minister. This poster is the result of more than 15 days of work.”

A Moment of Celebration

Adding to the celebratory mood was the ceremonial cutting of a 75-inch cake.

Spectator Manasi Ghosh expressed her joy, “It’s amazing to see such a huge flag on PM Modi’s 75th birthday. Wishing him a long and healthy life.”

DSK Rathi, General Secretary of the Surat District Cricket Association, added, “We’ve created this grand celebration with full enthusiasm. I hope to see PM Modi continue his dynamic leadership in the years to come.”

The Indian flag, hoisted alongside the giant poster, is also set to be displayed during the upcoming India-Sri Lanka women’s cricket series at the stadium, further cementing the patriotic theme of the event.

Coinciding with the celebration, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a two-week nationwide public service campaign titled Sewa Pakhwada, running from 17 September to 2 October.

The initiative includes blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, fitness-focused events like the ‘NaMo Yuva Run’, and the launch of initiatives such as the ‘Suman Sakhi’ chatbot and the ‘Ek Bagicha Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation campaign.

PM Modi’s Inspirational Journey

Born on 17 September 1950 in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, PM Narendra Modi rose from modest beginnings to become Gujarat’s Chief Minister (2001–2014) and has served as India’s Prime Minister since 2014.

Now in his third consecutive term, his leadership is widely credited with transformative national reforms.

PM Modi left home at 17 to travel across India, later joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), where he developed a rigorous daily routine and engaged in socio-political work.

Influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, PM Modi’s worldview reflects a strong commitment to service and spirituality.

Surat’s tribute reflects the state’s enduring pride in PM Modi’s journey and leadership — a celebration not just of a birthday, but of a legacy in progress.
