This action comes after the Parliament passed laws to impose reservation policies in the J&K Union Territory’s legislative assembly, job sector, and professional institutes.
Notably, the Women’s Reservation Bill, which seeks to reserve one-third of the seats in both Parliament and State legislative assemblies for women, was successfully enacted by the parliament on September 21, during the special session.
The Women’s Reservation Bill obtained presidential assent on September 28, just one week after it was passed, and it became a law.
