Ganesh Chaturthi 2026: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Extends Festive Greetings

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday extended his greetings and best wishes to devotees and people across the state on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, praying for happiness, prosperity and the fulfilment of their aspirations.

In a message shared on social media platform X, CM Yogi described Ganesh Chaturthi as a sacred festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of auspiciousness. He prayed that Ganpati Bappa’s blessings would remove every obstacle, fulfil people’s resolves and bring happiness, prosperity and auspiciousness into their lives.

‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, the Chief Minister added, extending his wishes to devotees celebrating the festival across Uttar Pradesh.

Ganesh Chaturthi marks Lord Ganesha’s birth, and people across India, particularly in Maharashtra, celebrate it with great enthusiasm. Devotees worship him as the deity of wisdom, prosperity, auspiciousness and new beginnings.

During the celebrations, devotees bring beautifully crafted Ganesha idols into their homes and public pandals. They offer prayers, flowers and sweets while organising rituals and cultural programmes.

The festivities traditionally conclude with Anant Chaturdashi. Devotees carry Ganesha idols in colourful processions before immersing them in water. The visarjan ritual symbolises Lord Ganesha’s return to his celestial abode.

This year, devotees are observing Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14, marking the beginning of the festive period dedicated to Lord Ganesha.

The celebrations will culminate on September 25 with Anant Chaturdashi, when devotees will bid farewell to the deity through immersion processions.

The festival continues to bring communities together through faith, devotion and cultural celebrations while reinforcing prayers for prosperity and the removal of obstacles.
