Incident Details
The incident occurred at around 09:15 PM on Wednesday at the under-construction Bosky The Empire commercial building in Kudasan.
A portion of the slab reportedly collapsed while construction work was underway, prompting police, fire brigade and disaster management teams to rush to the site.
Cranes and other equipment cleared the debris and helped rescue workers who may have been trapped beneath the collapsed structure.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi visited the accident site and Gandhinagar Civil Hospital to review the rescue operation and medical arrangements. He said around 15 workers suffered injuries, while doctors discharged two after treatment and continued treating the others.
Health Minister Praful Pansheriya visited the hospital and reviewed the injured workers’ treatment.
Specialist orthopaedic, spine care and surgery teams provided medical assistance.
BJP MLA Rita Patel said local residents told her that around 20 to 22 workers usually worked at the site each day. She further said rescuers brought around 13 workers to the Civil Hospital and reported that none remained in critical condition.
Authorities ordered a detailed investigation into the collapse. The probe will examine compliance with safety regulations and determine whether construction quality, centring or slab work contributed to the accident.
Officials said they would take further legal action based on the investigation findings. District officials, municipal authorities and senior police officers continue to monitor the situation.
