Lt Rekha Singh, the wife of Naik Deepak Singh who was killed in fighting with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, was commissioned as an officer on Saturday and has been posted to a frontline battalion in eastern Ladakh.
Rekha, 29, was assigned to the Army Ordnance Corps after graduating from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai.
“Lt Rekha Singh has been assigned to a frontline unit in eastern Ladakh”, an official said.
Naik Singh, her husband, was a member of the Army Medical Corps who was afterward assigned to the 16th Battalion of Bihar Regiment.
