Amit Shah Says ISI-Backed Shahzad Bhatti Network Dismantled, Over 200 Arrested

Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the transformation of Kurregutta in Bastar, saying the area that was once considered a Naxal stronghold is now celebrating Independence Day with the Tricolour flying proudly.

In a social media post, Shah said the change reflects the region’s movement away from violence and towards peace, progress and national integration.

Shah recalled that Kurregutta was once associated with Naxal terror, where the sound of gunfire dominated the landscape. He said the area now resonates with patriotic sentiment as people mark the country’s Independence Day.

The Home Minister described the development as an indication of the changing situation in Bastar, where security and development efforts have continued to reduce the influence of Left-Wing Extremism.

According to Shah, the national flag flying over Kurregutta’s red soil represents more than an Independence Day celebration. He described it as a symbol of the strength, progress and confidence emerging in a new, Naxal-free Bastar.

The Minister’s remarks highlighted the significance of restoring a sense of security and normalcy in areas that were previously affected by extremist violence.

The Tricolour displayed at Kurregutta has added significance as the country celebrates Independence Day.

Shah’s message connected the occasion with the broader transformation taking place in parts of Bastar. He said the changing atmosphere demonstrates how regions once affected by violence can move towards peace, development and greater participation in the national mainstream.

The message comes as the government continues to focus on making Bastar Naxal-free while strengthening security, development and public confidence across the region.
