The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has reached a key infrastructure milestone as it completes eight years since its establishment.
Officials received 20 hectares, or approximately 50 acres, of land at Tathawade on 13 August 2026 for the construction of a permanent and integrated Police Headquarters campus.
The Commissionerate has been functioning from a small rented facility since its creation, making the land transfer an important development for its future expansion.
The proposed complex will bring several police departments and support facilities under one campus.
Plans include a dedicated administrative building for the Police Headquarters. The project will feature parade and recruitment grounds, a DCP Headquarters office and training infrastructure.
The campus will house the Motor Transport Division, Quick Reaction Team offices, Police Armoury and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad building.
Authorities have additionally proposed a police hospital, indoor shooting range, running track and sports facilities to support personnel.
The development will provide residential accommodation for police officers and other personnel.
The plan includes a school for the children of police staff. It will, however, feature a multipurpose hall and other essential administrative and operational facilities.
The Commissionerate said the land allocation followed years of sustained efforts by the police administration.
Senior police officers worked closely with the Maharashtra Government and several government departments to complete the process.
The Revenue and Forest Department, Pune District Collectorate and Animal Husbandry Department played important roles in facilitating the transfer of the land.
Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey, IPS, thanked the Maharashtra Government for its continued cooperation in making the project possible.
The new headquarters is expected to provide police personnel with improved working and residential infrastructure. It will, however, bring key administrative, training and operational functions together.
The proposed campus could enhance the Commissionerate’s preparedness, coordination and response capabilities as the Pimpri-Chinchwad region continues to grow.
