India witnesses 7 crucial bypolls today in its 5 states. The BJP and SP look locking horns surrounded by a high-stakes battle in Mainpuri & Rampur.

Bhanupratappur (Chhattisgarh, Padampur (Odisha), Katauli (Uttar Pradesh), Sardarshahar (Rajasthan) and Kurhani (Bihar), are also the constituencies where the by-elections are going to be held.

One Lok Sabha seat and six Assembly seats in five states are going to be on stake today for the main political parties today on Monday 5 December 2022. Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, going for poll, is one of the most significant constituencies where the Samajwadi Party faces a high-stakes battle against the BJP for retaining the seat which was represented by the party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.

On the other hand Assembly bypolls are being held in Uttar Pradesh for the constituencies of Katauli and Rampur, in Bihar for Kurhani, in Odisha for Padampur, in Rajasthan for Sardarshahar  and in Chhattisgarh for Bhanupratappur. The results are going to be declared on Thursday 8th of December 2022. The same day the results of the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly elections are also going to be declared.

Going to detail for Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypoll we see 24.43 lakh voters here SP has been winning the seat five times since 1996. If the BJP wins the seat, this is going to be a huge blow to the Samajwadi Party

Due to the sympathy wave created by the SP going door to door here in the Mainpuri of Mulayam Singh Yadav, BJP does not have much chances of creeping up, though the saffron party may gain Dalit backing here.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav has been fielded against the BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya who happens to be a former aide of Shivpal Yadav.
