Noida: Sixteen children and their three caregivers were rescued when a fire broke out at an orphanage in Noida early Saturday, officials confirmed. Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey stated that the fire erupted at 2 a.m. in the two-story structure, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
At 2:21 a.m., the fire department received reports of a fire at a building in C Block of Sector 26, which houses an orphanage managed by the Ram Krishna Vivekananda Mission trust. Choubey mentioned that two water tenders and a team of firefighters were promptly dispatched to the location, and they successfully extinguished the fire. He noted that the fire originated on the ground floor of the building.
The orphanage accommodated 16 children aged four to twelve, along with three caretakers. The CFO affirmed, “Upon our arrival, we immediately evacuated all occupants of the building and conducted a headcount to ensure no one was left behind.” He confirmed that there were no injuries. Investigations into the cause of the fire and the extent of damage were underway, he added.
