The Cyber Crime Police in Prayagraj dismantled a fraudulent operation that involved cloning the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad.
The accused created a counterfeit portal, www.upmsp-edu.in, resembling the authentic www.upmsp.edu.in, and used it to deceive students and parents through незаконные financial transactions.
A specialised team under the Cyber Crime Police Station, Prayagraj Commissionerate, arrested two suspects identified as Shashi Prakash Rai and Manish Kumar Rai. Authorities registered the case under FIR No. 46/2025 and initiated further legal proceedings.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Gangapar, Kuldeep Gunawat, stated that investigators exposed a call centre operated by the accused.
The network targeted parents of failed students and offered незаконные services, including mark enhancement and issuance of forged academic documents.
During interrogation, police revealed that the accused operated under the name ‘Shri Education’. They developed fake replicas of official websites and advertised services on social media platforms, particularly Facebook.
The advertisements promised inflated marks and fabricated mark sheets for high school, intermediate, and university levels.
Once contacted, the accused prepared counterfeit documents by replicating seals, holograms, and official formats of educational institutions. They edited backdated mark sheets and degrees and delivered them via courier after charging between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000 per document.
The proceeds were distributed among the gang members.
Investigations further disclosed that Shashi Prakash Rai, also known as Rajan Sharma, had been involved in producing forged mark sheets and degrees since 2014.
Authorities believe the operation functioned in a systematic and organised manner to evade detection.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to curbing cyber fraud and protecting citizens from digital scams. They urged the public to rely only on official websites for academic services and remain vigilant against deceptive online practices.
