Ahead of Maha Kumbh 2025, authorities are making extensive preparations at the Sangam bank in Prayagraj, where bathing ghats have been constructed along a 12-km stretch. The preparations are in full swing, with particular focus on lighting, infrastructure, and safety measures, as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath prepares to visit the site.
In anticipation of the event, lighting arrangements are being installed across all the ghats. The stairs leading to the ghats are being reinforced with a combination of straw, brass, and soil packed in sacks to ensure safety and stability. Additionally, dedicated changing rooms for women have been set up at every ghat to maintain privacy and comfort for female devotees.
Deputy Fair Officer Abhinav Pathak provided updates on the ongoing work: “The cleaning and construction of ghats are progressing swiftly. Major ghats in the Sangam area have been newly developed, and efforts to enhance cleaning, construction, and security have been expedited in preparation for the Chief Minister’s arrival.”
Seven concrete ghats have been constructed along the banks of the Ganga and Yamuna at the Sangam. These ghats have been designed to accommodate the large number of bathers and devotees expected during the Maha Kumbh.
Given the expected massive crowd, authorities are implementing exceptional security measures and cleanliness arrangements at all ghats.
With these extensive preparations, authorities are committed to providing a secure, clean, and well-managed environment for the millions of devotees expected to converge at the Sangam bank for Maha Kumbh 2025.
